According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, the first known use of the term genderfluid was in 1993. However, this does not mean it is a new concept. Many cultures have had forms of genderfluidity throughout history, for as long as 3,000 years or more. Many cultures have a history of multiple or shifting genders.

Non-binary people have a sense that their gender identity exists outside of the binary definitions of "man" or "woman." For some, this might mean identifying as both masculine and feminine. For others, it might mean you view yourself as neither.

This test should be considered under the same category as any other gender quiz. It is by no means 100% accurate, but it should give you an idea of where your mind lies with regard to gender. Additionally, if you find that you are unsure after taking this test, it could be because you are Non-Binary!

AFAB: (pronounced ā-fab) Acronym meaning Assigned Female at Birth. AFAB people may or may not identify as female some or all of the time. AFAB is a useful term for educating about issues that may happen to these bodies without connecting to womanhood or femaleness.
