Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 3 Carbon-fiber EnergyRods (proprietary to Adidas) provide a snappy propulsion off the toe and through the stride. The shoe is also surprisingly stable for a race day running shoe, which is always a bonus.

In all, the adidas Adizero Pro 3 has better-than-average traction and durability. I wouldn't take them to a trail race, but they've proved good for road workouts and races.

This ridiculously lightweight running shoe is 33% lighter than Nike's Vaporfly. At 138 grams, it weighs as much as a single D battery, but we also loved its bouncier foam underfoot, which provides great energy return while running long distances.

The pros of this upper were the midfoot security and lighter nature to keep all the weight down. The downfalls were in heel security, comfort, and lower volume in the toe box.
