Nike and Asics have a weird relationship. Nike's founder Phil Knight started by importing and distributing Japanese shoes from Onitsuka in the US. This went on for a good number of years before they had a falling out and Nike launched its own shoes. Onitsuka is actually the parent company of Asics.

ASICS SPORTSTYLE announces the return of the GT-2160™ sneaker that originally debuted within the GT-2000™ series during the 2010s. The reissue of the heritage model highlights the tech evolution that was taking place in this era of running shoe development.

According to Cunha, "everyone can wear Asics" and he recommends them to a range of people, "as they can comfortably accommodate any foot type," he says. As compared to other sneakers, Cunha says that Asics' shoes have a handful of key features that make them beneficial for your feet.

The 2160 was a great shoe. It is the first running shoe I loved to wear because of its incredible support. That is why I ordered two pair for my races this summer.
