Each tannery is certified by the LWG (Leather Working Group) for their use of chemicals, impact on the environment etc.. and Timberland only buys from Silver or Gold rated tanneries. A key Timberland vs Timberland Pro design difference is the safety toes – an extra feature of the PRO versions. Safety toes are reinforced toe caps that protect the toes from impact or compression injuries. They can be made of alloy, steel or composite materials.
